Painting of a little sprite I glimpsed among the Polk weed. Like me, she seemed to be gathering berries for ink. 
Ever notice these purple berries? This plant is called Polk weed. It is native to the Midwest. The berries contain a bright magenta juice, but the seeds are inedible. Birds love them!  The juice can be made into a gorgeous ink.
Created with acrylic paint on cold press watercolor paper. This original painting measures 8"x10.
