Of Longing and Lupine

Size
  • ~The Story~

She rose in the spring to drink the dawn down. A purplish petal of a girl covered in morning. “I need to remind you that girls are not flowers.” She said. “I need to remind you that you are wolf song. You are  mountain lion sure footed running , coyote grace, and raccoon riddling in the darkness. You are the chrysalis, never the moth.”

The lupine plant is the host for the Karner Blue butterfly, an endangered butterfly that lives in pockets of Michigan prairie.
