The original painting measures 18"x 24" and is 1.5"deep.
It is acrylic paint and book pages on birch wood panel.
The painting sits flush against the wall and has a wire hanger along the back.
It will come titled and signed on the back.
A  pack of free prairie seeds will be included with your order.

My prints are hand made by me from high quality scans of my original paintings. I trim and package them in my studio. They are available in sizes 5”x7” (A5) 8”x10” 11”x14”
 
PRINT DETAILS
-All my prints are printed on archival quality 110lb acid free paper.
-Prints have a satin finish.
-Printed using archival pigment inks (This means the colors will not fade)
- All prints will be signed on the back.

-This size has a slim white border (appx. ¼”) to allow for easy framing and matting.
 
 
PACKAGING / SHIPPING- I ship prints flat, never rolled.
-They come carefully packaged in a resealable crystal clear plastic sleeve with cardboard added for support.
I want to make my art eco-friendly so most of my packing materials are recyclable. Prints come packaged in envelopes made from recycled paper. The prints themselves are printed on archival paper that uses 30% post consumer material.

- Artist Statement
 
I first fell in love with the prairie when studying art at UNI. Wandering the twisting paths of the restored prairie calmed my mind. As I drank in grasshopper droning, late summer’s scent of grass, the pollen, the leaves, and the many colors, I felt grounded and renewed. The prairie sang to me in a way that allowed me to simply be. 
I began my prairie series after I moved to Des Moines.  I immersed myself in the local prairie, sketching and collecting photos, and samples for reference. I wanted this series to capture the feelings I had while wandering those prairie paths. 
This idea blossomed into the series Prairie Seed Dreaming. The series explores the relationship between woman, plant, and pollinator, through botanically accurate renderings of native plants, and dreamlike imagery of women immersed in the prairie landscape. As the divide between woman and prairie blurs, the roles separating them blur, each becoming wholly dependent on the other.
Through these paintings I invite the viewer into the prairie. I will use this series to raise awareness about the importance of prairie restoration and open a dialogue about the benefits of planting natives for both pollinators and people.
