  • ~The Story~

Big get- togethers and events were fine for a little while, but afterwards she always needed time alone. She needed some time to think, drink a bit of tea and visit with her birds. They weren’t her birds of course, but that’s how she thought of them. And if you asked the birds, they might say she was their girl. They’d titter, and chirp, telling of their travels and sharing the sights from the sky. And she’s sit and sip, soaking in the afternoon sun, and scent of the prairie in late summer. The birds would play with her hair and place seeds in her palm. After awhile, she would feel more herself again. Then she’d meander through the tall grass, gathering mountain mint to take home and dry for more tea.
